Do you believe in Cornerstone’s mission to aid the mental health of the less fortunate? Participate in it!
Sponsorship
We are committed to ensuring that everyone has access to mental health services when they need them regardless of income. This however, results in a shortfall between revenue obtained from clients and our delivery costs. In order to pay for our costs we fundraise for our Way to Wellness Fund which we use to subsidize costs.
If you are interested in sponsoring a program or an event please contact Sheila Stauffer, Executive Director, at s.stauffer@cornerstonecounselling.com.
Employment
We are currently seeking to fill the following roles:
Registered Psychologist – Contract Position
Registered Psychologist and Member of the Clinical Supervision Team
Volunteer
Come lend a hand! We need volunteers to help with special events, committees, office administration, donation programs, and donor communication. Volunteers are extremely valuable as they make Cornerstone more visible and sustainable.
If you feel you have skills to contribute as a volunteer or are interested in developing new skills through volunteering, Cornerstone would love to hear from you. Contact Deidre Martens, Stakeholder Relations Coordinator d.martens@cornerstonecounselling.com
Join Our Board
Cornerstone is currently looking for individuals to serve on our Board of Directors. This is an opportunity for those who would like to be a part of a core team that will set the strategic direction for Cornerstone’s future. We need men and women with a variety of skills to work with us to ensure we are sustainable and continue to offer quality services to the community.
If you think you could help in this way, please contact Sheila Stauffer, Executive Director, at s.stauffer@cornerstonecounselling.com
Practicum Placement
Thank you for your interest in completing your counselling practicum at Cornerstone Counselling. Cornerstone has a robust student program that provides practicum students with opportunities to work with adults, couples, and groups. Opportunities to work with teens and children may also be offered, subject to the availability of specialized supervision. All students will have an individual supervisor and group supervision as well as additional training opportunities. We strive to offer an excellent training program that will set all our students on the right path for their careers.
Our counselling practicums are open to students who are enrolled in a master level or above counselling program from a recognized Alberta university. Students from out-of-province masters’ programs will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Plan a Fundraiser
Third-party fundraisers and initiatives are a great way to give back to your community and support a charity like Cornerstone Counselling.
What is a third-party fundraising event/initiative?
An event or initiative organized by an individual, community group, or company that is not an official Cornerstone Counselling event. Acting independently and with Cornerstone Counselling’s approval, third-party events are an important resource for raising funds to help us carry out our work of providing affordable, professional counselling.
When you organize a third-party event or initiative, you are not only raising money to support Cornerstone Counselling but you are also raising awareness about Cornerstone in the community and the important work we do. This increase in awareness is an invaluable component to third-party fundraising events.
We ask that all events being held to support Cornerstone Counselling be compatible with our mission, vision, and values.
Third-Party Fundraising Package
To get started, please review Cornerstone Counselling’s Third-Party Fundraising Package.
This will help you understand who we are, what support we can provide to you, and what we require from you for your initiative or event. It reviews the approval process, logo usage, promotions, insurance and liability, sponsorship, volunteers, Cornerstone Counselling representative request, and tax receipt processes. It will also review what support we give to you, the host of the third-party fundraising initiative or event, such as providing logos, messaging, speaking notes, online fundraising platforms, social media and website promotion etc.
If you have any questions or need clarification after you have reviewed the Third-Party Information Kit please email Amanda Morris, Marketing and Communications Manager at a.morris@cornerstonecounselling.com.
